Driven by the connecting power of drawings

We are a community here to help you tell your story in more meaningful ways using hand-drawn images, without needing to know how to draw.

So much same-same

A picture of several rounded squares in a row all the same, symbolising repetition and boring

Visuals make communications more effective. But these days we’re surrounded by so many stock photos, stock illustrations, and now AI-generated images, that they’re losing their richness and meaning.

How we are different

A picture of several rounded squares in a row, but one is hand-drawn and rising above the others as a hot ait balloon, symbolising the elevated attention and engagement that hand-drawn images provide

In this world or polished perfection, hand-drawn images inject warmth and character back into your communications. They have a universal charm. They turn daunting information into digestible messages. They’re more memorable, and they transcend language barriers and cultures.

Who is behind StorytellerSketches?

Our story

StorytellerSketches is the brainchild of Ben Crothers, an illustrator, graphic recorder and facilitator from Australia. Ben is passionate about using visuals in general – and drawing in particular – to help simplify complex information, and cut through the corporate ‘jargon monoxide’ that suffocates so much of modern business communication.

His work as a graphic recorder and illustrator showed him that so many people in business want to use the freshness and warmth of hand-drawn images, but don’t have the ability or time to draw.

We are a platform and a community

StorytellerSketches is a library of images for you to find, buy and use in your communications, such as business presentations, blog posts, and social media content. We find and curate images that say something more than just the obvious, so that you can express more nuance and meaning in whatever it is you’re trying to say.

These images come from a growing global community of illustrators, sketchers, graphic recorders and artists. Everyone in this community loves the power of visuals, and wants to share their images and skills with you.
